There is a difference between knowing the facts about the Christian faith and living the life of faith in Christ. Intellectual comprehension of an idea is not the same as making a life commitment. My purpose in writing it to share what I have learned while living the life more than to share what I have learned from reading about the life.

This page is under construction. As I develop material on the faith practices, I will add pages and downloads. Construction will be ongoing.

Lutherans recognize seven fundamental faith practices. A person who commits to these practices and lives them out in daily life grows in a relationship with Christ. The joy and fulfillment of knowing Christ transcends the delight of any intellectual accomplishment.

The seven fundamental faith practices are:
  • Pray
  • Study
  • Worship
  • Invite
  • Encourage
  • Serve
  • Give

Most of the material I write is about living our faith. In one way or another, much of it touches on or grows out of these practices. I invite you to share my experience by reading what I write and to share your experience by responding with your own thoughts and experiences.

Pillars of Christian Living

Lutherans teach that the Bible is the foundation of our faith. On that foundation stand three pillars which instruct us in the fundamentals of faith. The foundation and the pillars begin to shape a life that may be enhanced structurally and ornamented beautifully over years of experience in faith practices. The three pillars are:

·        The Lord’s Prayer

·        The Apostles Creed

·        The Ten Commandments
